Barley & Wicklow visit Soviet Publishers
Location:
Moscow
Russia

Details:
Barley and Wicklow visit Alex Zapadny of VAAP - "the old Russian suffocating copyright agency at VAAP's offices. (VAAP– Vsesoiuznoeagentstvo po avtorskim pravamВсесоюзное агентство по авторским правам, ВААП).  Then they visit Yuri, a Russian publisher, at his offices.  Yuri was played by Georgy Andjaparidze, who I understand was a senior research fellow of the Gorky Institute of World literature, but also a suspected KGB "mamka", a secret police agent.

Georgi Andjaparidze
I did see a documentary once which claimed that he was essentially playing himself in the film.  In 1967, he accompanied Allan Sillitoe, an English writer and one of the "Angry Young Men" of the 1950s, on his jouney across the USSR in a blue Peugeot, and in 1969, he was minder to Soviet writer Anatoly Kuznetsov in London, when Kuznetsov defected to the UK.

Notes:
I have not been able to identify either of these locations.
